When is the code detected?
The P0573 codes is set when the stop light switch signal is stuck in the off position.

- Stop light inoperative
- Cruise control system inoperative
P0573 Dodge Description

When the brake pedal is depressed, the stop light switch sends a signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM). When the ECM receives this signal, it cancels the cruise control.
