I have the engine code P0449, what does this mean in a 2010 Chevrolet Impala?

P0449 Evaporative emission control system vent valve /solenoid circuit malfunction.

In other words the vent solenoid is non operational,This is for emmission control by not allowing fume to enter the atmosphere,instead enering the canister where it is store and sent to the purge valve to be used.
