05 Ram 1500 p/u 4.7 check engine light on. Auto parts guy tested with a scanner which reads P0562 which is low voltage. The gauge on the dashboard reads slightly towards H more than normal. Came home placed multi-tester across the battery. Key off 12.43, key on 14.60. Belt good and adjusted. I was ready to take battery to get tested when I read how to check for codes, key on push trip button the off, on, off, on. The Onboard says P2098. Not 2 codes at once, 2 different codes with 2 different testers.

P0562 Battery voltage low

P2098 Downstream fuel trim system 2 lean

This depends on the scan tool There are type "A" codes that suspends non priority codes. P0568 is a true code condition for your vehicle at battery with key off engine off the minimum voltage should not go below 12.5 volts. A weak battery will not be able to dampen a/c ripples that are created by the charging system. The battery should be replaced. P2098 exhaust leaks can set this code , this code condition is very popular with non oem 02 sensor installed.
