After hitting a curb at a low speed, my 2003 mitsubishi lancer oz, shut off. well 5 years later I'm trying to bring it back to life. I checked all the fuses and relay switches and all are in working condition. When I add starter spray into the trottle body the engine runs until the vapor burn away. I check the fuel pump and found that it didn't make a sound, so I removed the 2 wires (1 red-1 black) from the fuel pump and tested for power. I found no power. I removed the pumb and hard wire power from the battery to the pump and found it wasn't working so I installed a new one. but before installing it I tested it the same way as the old pump and it worked.
I replaced the spark plugs, cleaned the throttle body, checked all grounds and attached a code detector and found 2 errors P0102 - Mass volume flow circuit low input P0183 - fuel temperature sensor a circuit high input
I don't know how to check for these errors and if they have anything to do with my not having power to the fuel pump.
can you help
P0102 Volume air flow circuit low input
P0183 Fuel temperature sensor circuit high input
If you sprayed a starter fluid or whatever to start the car and it started and turn off, you proved that the fuel pump has problems.Look at the owner manual this might have a fuel shut off valve, As for these code condition it may have been do to the starter fluid (use carburator cleaner it safer) Check for power at the fuel pump relay before testing power at the fuel pump. And you can not test the fuel pump outside it will burn itself out.
