    P0445 code for a 2006 NISSAN Altima - could this be result of a broken gas cap?

    My 2006 Nissan Altima recently had a broken gas cap. I replaced it with a generic gas cap. Do you think this could be causing the check engine code P0445?

    nope, there is a different code for the gas cap. The P0445 is EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Solenoid Valve Circuit Shorted

    Possible causes
    - EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Solenoid Valve harness is open or shorted
    - EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Solenoid Valve electrical circuit poor connection
    - Faulty EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve
