B1318 Battery voltage low

B1317 Battery voltage high

This is for the ABS system , which is very dependant on the battery and the charging system. B1317 can happen if you recently had the vehicle jump started. B1318 would be a indication that you need to check the charging system for proper charging condition. A good battery should have 12.5 volts or more and charging system should be 2 volts above battery voltage about 14.5 volts

According to the 1996 Ford Explorer factory service manual, the B1317 and B1318 codes depend on which module the code was generated.

B1318 FORD Code - Battery Voltage Low

Since you have both codes, you should start by checking the battery condition and if possible, the charging system.
