P0340 - where is the sensor located on a 2000 ford F-150 4.2L engine?

asked May 3, 2011 by anonymous

1 Answer

The cam sensor is located at the front center of the engine block. This is actually a cam syncronizer and requires adjustments once installed.

This works like a distributor only it's on a distributorless ignition. So it has to be put into time just like a distributor. This is typically done with a scan tool
